Educational visits just got a lot more exciting.
Our Robotics and Computing Trips
Tried and tested Computer Science themed school trips that enrich classroom syllabus coverage and inspire your learners.
Why take students on a Robotics / Computing trip?
Traditionally a subject area that is seen to be more 'virtual' with many digital learning opportunities available on the Internet, an overseas residential trip can offer an opportunity for students to appreciate a broader perspective of the field, along with developments and experiments that may not be visible in their home country. This can not only work to inspire them to study further, but also help them to develop a broader understanding of syllabus topics currently being taught in school Computer Science lessons. Schools offering annual robotics-themed trips may also see a greater uptake in students wanting to study the subject in KS4 and KS5 (and beyond of course), ever important in an age where digital literacy and basic computer science skills are more valuable than ever before.
Computer Science destinations
For academic immersion, look no further than our trips to London, with code breaking workshops, robot building and fighting, formation drone flying through careful programming, assembly language game programming, as well as other activities that can be built around visits to the Science Museum and National Museum of Computing.
For trips that bring more culture into the balance, South Korea and Japan offer an insight into their respective cultures alongside the opportunity to see technology, especially artificial intelligence and robots, in action.
Japan offers an opportunity to see cars being made by robots, try an artificial limb controlled by flexing your muscles, interact with robotic baristas and learn about packet switching in networks using ball bearings and binary code. Students who love anime will not want to leave Akihabara, those who love food will perfect the art of rolling sushi and those who love nature will enjoy the majestic views of Mount Fuji. Discover our school trips to Japan.
South Korea has the world's first robot and AI museum, offering students the chance to control a robotic dog and see other robots in action whilst considering some of the advantages to civilisation along with ethical questions. Seoul is energetic and students will cook Korean barbeque, sing K-Pop and reflect at historical palaces, before riding a bullet train to Busan for hands-on learning and robot dancing at the Science Museum.
